Memphis Shoots LIVE – Major update after suspect Ezekiel Kelly’s ‘Facebook rampage’ bans university

A GUNMAN has been arrested after allegedly shooting at several people while streaming on Facebook Live.
The Memphis Police Department has confirmed that 19-year-old Ezekiel Kelly is in custody after the suspect reportedly opened fire at multiple locations around the city Wednesday night.
In a graphic video shared on social media, the man could be seen getting out of the car as he headed out on a run filled with expletives: “This s*** is for real” before walking in went to a store and apparently a man shot without warning.
The University of Memphis has been placed under a temporary lockdown after gunfire rang out near the campus, according to an alert sent to students and faculty.
The city’s on-site placement order was lifted after Kelly’s arrest after he vandalized a vehicle, allowing police to apprehend him.

Spree details
Police say the gunman’s rampage began around 4:30 p.m. when a man was reportedly shot in the side.
Spree then moved to a nearby gas station before the suspect moved on to other crime scenes – including a possible theft car.
The suspect started in a blue vehicle before hijacking a gray Toyota and eventually hijacking a Dodge Challenger.
Police eventually caught the man at Ivan and Hodge’s home in a Memphis neighborhood after the suspected gunman was involved in a car accident.

The arrest warrant was issued this morning
An arrest warrant for Ezekiel Kelly was issued this morning on 2020 charges including criminal attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated assault, use of a firearm with intent to commit a crime and reckless endangerment.

The US Sun can confirm that suspect Ezekiel Kelly has been charged as of 2020 including criminal attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated assault, use of a firearm with intent to commit a crime and reckless endangerment.
Shelby County court documents show that he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and the other charges were dismissed.
On April 6, 2021, Kelly was sentenced to three years in prison in the Shelby County Department of Corrections after being tried as an adult.
He was ordered to pay fines and costs of $12,389.50 and agreed to a payment plan.

MATA trolley and bus services have been suspended indefinitely while police continue to search for the suspect.
“In lieu of the current threat announced by the Memphis Police Department regarding an active shooter in the Memphis area,” MATA said in a press release.
“MATA’s trolley and bus services will be suspended indefinitely. MATA executives are acting with great caution and concern for the safety of their drivers and passengers.”

The University of Memphis went into lockdown after gunfire rang out near campus, according to a warning sent to students and faculty.
“All the doors of the university have been locked for security reasons.”

It is reported that suspect Ezekiel Kelly may be responsible for multiple shootings across the city.
A man was killed in a shooting in South Memphis off South Parkway East around 4:35 p.m. and another woman was injured just moments later on Norris Road off I-240, WREG reported.
Fox13 reported that a 24-year-old man was killed on Lyndale Avenue at 12:56 p.m.
