Mel Gibson has been given permission to testify against sex-shame film mogul Harvey Weinstein

MEL Gibson acquitted to testify against sex-shame film mogul Harvey Weinstein.

The Braveheart star, 66, is in line to tell a jury about a conversation he had with a masseuse who is one of Weinstein’s most recent accusers.

Although attorneys argued that Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks would constitute a bias against the Jewish Weinstein, the judges ruled that this had little bearing on the case

His involvement was challenged by lawyers for the Oscar winner early in his LA trial on 11 sexual assault and rape charges.

They said Gibson’s anti-Semitic remarks in 2006 and 2010 meant he would be biased toward Weinstein, who is Jewish.

But the judges ruled it had little impact on his testimony about his conversation with the masseuse.

The decision means two of Hollywood’s once biggest hitters, who have both been embroiled in scandal, will go head-to-head across the courtroom.

Weinstein, 70, was sentenced to 23 years in prison in New York in 2020 for sex crimes, which he is appealing.

He then appealed the decision, but the New York Court of Appeals upheld the court’s original decision.

At least 100 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

The former film producer has “clearly denied” all allegations.
