Harry & Meg ‘100% aware how rude Phillip Memorial snub was’
AFTER Prince Harry’s no-show at Prince Philip’s memorial service, he has now been criticized for being the only senior member of the royal family to miss it.
More than 1,800 people attended the service in honor of the Duke of Edinburgh, including 27 members of international royalty.
However, the Duke of Sussex stayed at his £11million California mansion with his wife Meghan and is now facing criticism from royal watchers and the public for his “shameful” absence.
Richard Griffin, who guarded the late Duke for 14 years, said Harry’s absence was “a huge disappointment to everyone”.
He added: “People have been talking about it. Certainly where I was, people said he should have been here.
“All this nonsense about not being able to get protection was a pathetic excuse for me. He should have been here to honor his grandfather.
“At the end of the day if he was that worried about safety he could have stayed with his brother and father who have wonderful safety and he would have been more than safe.”
Royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, who wrote Prince Philip Revealed, added the couple “missed an opportunity” by not attending.
“Harry must have known it would look irritated and rude. And if he hadn’t, Meghan would have,” she said.
“The wall of silence was as loud as if they had shouted from the abbey rafters. The usually talkative Duke and Duchess of Sussex said nothing.”
