Meet Samantha Rivera, the stunning CBS reporter who was dubbed “the next Derrick Henry” after slamming an NHL fan live on the show

SPORT reporter Samantha Rivera is like most people and doesn’t like being interrupted at work.
The CBS Miami sportscaster gave a gloriously stiff arm to a fan trying to get into her live coverage Monday after Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Rivera was in Las Vegas, Nevada covering the Vegas Knights’ 7-2 win over the Florida Panthers when a fan appeared on screen and tried to break into their live feed.
She pushed the fan off-firing with a textbook arm stiffness and shared the clip on Twitter with the message:
“Listen, I don’t give a damn what team you champion – don’t let me down when I’m working and respect that I’m here to do my job.”
“I’m excited to be returning home to some class #Panthers Fans for Game 3!!”

Rivera was quick to gain praise on social media for her composure and tenacity in handling the situation.
One nicknamed her: “Samantha “Derrick Henry” Rivera.”
Another said she had to play football: “Great serenity! @MiamiDolphins you all need an extra oline!”
A third marveled at her technique: “Watch her put her hand down and drive through. That’s a practiced stiff arm. She didn’t give the guy an inch. 10/10.”
And a fourth praised her: “That was one of the best pros that didn’t break and you stopped him from getting totally involved in your broadcast. What a stiff arm. This is the best thing I’ve seen in years. You rock.”
Rivera appears to have put the incident behind her and has embraced the excitement on social media.
She shared a screenshot on her Instagram story showing that she enjoys messages that read, “New nickname for you… Stiff Arm.”
Game 3 takes place in Florida on Thursday night with Vegas leading 2-0.
Hopefully Rivera doesn’t have to fight back against more obnoxious fans.
