EX-FOOTBALL star Jen Munoz is taking social media by storm.
The California-born 26-year-old athlete retired three years after turning professional to pursue a successful career as a sports media personality.
Munoz was born on November 4, 1996 in Los Angeles.
Just like her hero, Paris Saint-Germain star Leo Messi, she has spent a large part of her life on the football pitch.
Jen missed school dances and other “things that normal kids usually do” while pursuing the sport, the California native said Countless athletes.
But their sacrifices paid off.
Munoz completed four years of football — and three years of track and field — at Capistrano Valley High School.
The 5’7″ midfielder went on to play Division 1 football for the University of New Mexico while studying business and marketing.
Towards the end of her senior year, she received an offer to play for Mexican professional club Club America.
After graduating, Munoz spent over two years at the Estadio Azteca.
She even made her international debut for the Mexico women’s national team during her time in Mexico City.
But Jen is hanging up her football boots in 2021 as her passion for the sport began to wane – and because she really missed her family and LA, she said urban pitch.
As Munoz began moving into sports media, she signed on for a Survivor-like show titled Exatlon.
The ex-soccer star almost drowned in an underwater competition, which she nevertheless completed after being rescued.
In her first appearance in the sports media after retirement, Jen covered Los Angeles FC for 110 Sport’s show Angels Wear Boots.
She then began creating content for the women’s soccer website ATA Football and became a presenter for the Concacaf Football Association.
Munoz has also posted many glamorous snaps and workout videos, thus building a huge audience on her social media platforms.
The rising sports media star now has over 270,000 followers on Instagram, 250,000 on TikTok and 77,000 on Twitter.
Outside of sports, Jen is a huge advocate for mental health.
She also loves travel, Fettuccini Alfredo, the movie Dear John and Harry Potter.
