Dubbed “Such a beauty” by finalist Jena Sims, Wright announced this exciting news on her main Instagram account along with her entry video.
In the clip, she said, “While I might not be a name you recognize, I’m a girl with big dreams and an even bigger heart.”
That post was captioned, “I’ve been keeping this around for a while, but couldn’t be more honored to announce that I made the top 12 in the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swim search.
“This journey has only just begun, but there are no words to express the gratitude I feel for the people and experiences I have met so far.”

“Let this be your sign to do something that scares you.
“I’d found every reason under the sun why I wasn’t able or worthy, but this is proof that what’s meant for you will find you.”
“To continue this journey with clear eyes and a full heart.”
A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Wright is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she majored in communications, journalism, and related programs, according to LinkedIn.
