McDonald’s uses bizarre tactics to keep wild boys from clashing in restaurants

A McDONALD’S branch is supposed to play Beethoven to calm rowdy yobs.

Weary staff switch from pop hits after being pelted with coins in clashes with more than 20 young troublemakers.

Classical music is played from 5pm at the 24 hour outlet in Wrexham.

The WiFi is also switched off at times in the evenings.

Police Inspector Luke Hughes said: “Unless we have some local and recalcitrant Beethoven enthusiasts it should discourage some trouble.”

A Shepherds Bush branch of McDonald’s in west London previously started playing classical music and said it scared off yobs.

McDonald’s previously said, “We have tested the impact of classical music in the past and played it in some of our restaurants as it encourages more acceptable behavior.

“Classical music was usually played in a few restaurants from early evening and in some cases on certain nights.”
