Inside each meal, McDonald’s patrons will find four Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) cards—three regular cards and one holographic.

Holographic cards are special Pokémon cards that look shiny compared to others and are valuable to collectors as they are usually in limited supply.

In addition to the cards, each Happy Meal includes a spinner and a cardboard Pokémon coin that can be used to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

While the promotion is on, the Happy Meal boxes will feature Pikachu’s iconic face, complete with pointy ears and red cheeks.

PokéBeach reported that McDonald’s packages will contain 15 different Pokémon, six of which will be on holographic cards.

However, collectors only have a limited amount of time to catch them all.

According to GameRant, the promotion ends on September 6th.

Depending on how many cards you have by September and which ones you land, you can make cash by selling them online.

Value of McDonald’s Pokémon cards

Some of the holographic cards may be worth more than $10, while the full set of McDonald’s cards could be worth more than $30 based on last year’s eBay sales of the cards.

According to ScreenRant, Holographic Pikachu cards are currently the most valuable in McDonald’s collection at around $7 to $11 each.

Other holocards available from McDonald’s, such as the Gossifleur, Growlithe, Rowlet, and Victini, are reportedly selling for around $3 to $5 each.

Meanwhile, the average Happy Meal costs about $4, according to Fast Food Price, but prices vary by location and meal.

McDonald’s has offered Pokémon-themed Happy Meals every year since 2011, including a special promotion for the trading card game’s 25th anniversary in 2021.

According to PokéBeach, last year’s crossover promotion resulted in high demand for the meals.

As a result, many McDonald’s locations limited the number of Happy Meals a customer could order.

The outlet said similar restrictions are expected this year, requiring determined card collectors to make multiple trips to McDonald’s to collect all the cards.
