Speaking of Wild Rides! Using the Steve-O podcast, Mayim revealed why the show sometimes stalls during filming, and it’s all in the name of accuracy.

When the show has to decide whether or not an answer is acceptable, Jeopardy! are paused.

“We sometimes shut down for almost an hour because of a decision,” she explained.

“So you don’t see that. You just see something like “Oh, they decide that,” but every episode where we correct someone’s score, like “The judges have ruled mahogany is also an acceptable tree beginning with an M” or what whatever it is usually means we’ve been off for about an hour.”

HIGH COURT!

Mayim, who added that sometimes a decision “can change the course of the game,” also revealed that there’s an attorney at the studio overseeing everything.

“There’s an attorney on set all day, an advocate of standards and practices,” she said.

“Imagine going to law school and getting put on Jeopardy! They just sit there and make sure everything is kosher.”

The former Big Bang Theory star also told Stev-O that as the show’s host alongside Ken Jennings, she gets a green or red light to indicate whether or not she can accept an answer and move on.

CHAOS ON THE SCREEN

The tedious shooting methodology could explain some of the editing errors in the final episodes.

Fans have called out the popular game show for its episode-spoiling bugs.

Last month, the show aired segments out of order, leaving viewers stunned.

Twitter users expressed their frustration at the major TV glitch that caused later rounds to appear first.

And previously, during a daily doubles, two contestants’ scores were briefly switched to their final scores, revealing the winner’s total score.

This faux pas caused fans to go wild over the mistake that spoiled the episode.

THE NEXT HOST

Mayim is currently sharing hosting duties at Jeopardy! with Ken Jennings.

Fans have yet to find out if she or the former champion will be announced as the permanent host when season 38 concludes.
