Mauricio Pochettino’s clearing against Chelsea gains momentum as Edouard Mendy ‘agrees to terms’ ahead of surprise transfer

MAURICIO POCHETTINO’s attempts to take down Chelsea’s huge squad are gaining momentum.
Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, 31, is one of the players facing a departure from Stamford Bridge after losing his place to Kepa Arrizabalaga last season.
Accordingly Fabrizio Romanothe centre-back has made personal arrangements with Saudi pro-league side Al Ahli.
According to the report, the Senegalese star will join the club on a contract that runs until 2026.
However, he’s not the only blue man believed to be leaving the club and heading to the Middle East.
It has also been claimed that Hakim Ziyech and Kalidou Koulibaly could also join.
Romano has suggested Ziyech’s move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and Koulibaly’s move to Al Hilal could be completed “this week”.
Chelsea are looking to slash squad numbers after spending £600m on new players since last summer.
One flop the club is struggling to get over is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who says he is not interested in a move to the Middle East Daily mail.
This report claims a £6m bid has been made for the 34-year-old Gabonese star but is believed to be interested in a Barcelona return.

Another player believed to be interested in staying in Europe is Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium international would love to return to Inter Milan, where he was on loan last season.
However, the Serie A giants have merely made another loan offer to the Blues while they would rather sell him.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz, Conor Gallagher, Matteo Kovacic and Levi Colwill are also being linked with a move from Stamford Bridge.
