Matilda on Netflix Release Date, Cast, Synopsis, Teasers and More

A film adaptation of the popular Roald Dahl character Matilda will come to Netflix in December, the streamer announced back in 2021. But what do we really know about the film so far?

The West End version of Mathilde tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a “sharp wit and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results.”

The musical, based on the book by popular British writer Roald Dahl, has won 47 international awards and is now coming to Netflix with a film adaptation.

When is Matilda coming to Netflix?

Netflix announced in 2021 that a film adaptation of Mathilde will be added to its massive library in December 2022, but when exactly?

Well, according to Digital Spy, this new film version of the classic novel will premiere in local cinemas in the UK on December 2, 2022, and for other regions the musical adaptation will be available on Netflix “in the same month”. ”

On August 30, Netflix announced that the music film would be coming out Sunday 25 December 2022. However, it won’t be released in select US theaters until December 9th.

Who is in the cast of Matilda on Netflix?

According to IMDb, the cast is from Netflix Mathilde includes Alisha Weir as Matilda, Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull, Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey, Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough as Matilda’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, and Sindhu Vee as the librarian, Mrs. Phelps.

IMDb also listed the following actors in roles for the film:

• Lauren Alexandra as “The Acrobat”
• Carl Spencer as Magnus the Escapologist
• Louis Martin as “miracle parents”
• Jemma Geanaus as “miracle parents”
• And Antwan Eilish as “Kid in the Library”

Is there a trailer for Netflix’s Matilda?

The short answer is no, there is currently no official trailer for the version released by Netflix, but there are plenty of fun fan-made ones you can check out on YouTube in the meantime. We’re sure a trailer will be provided as we get closer to the film’s release.
