Masonic Temple Fire – Building in Zanesville, Ohio engulfed in flames as a nearby prison is evacuated

A MASSIVE fire engulfed the Masonic Temple in Zanesville, Ohio, on Thursday night.
The historic building, the tallest in Ohio City, is home to many art studios.
Zanesville Times Recorder confirmed The fire department was at the scene of the fire at 36-42 N. 4th Street.
The building is next to the Muskingum County Jail and Courthouse, but authorities said all inmates and staff were safely evacuated.
The fire is believed to have left several nearby buildings without power.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Shocking footage posted on social media shows the building completely engulfed in flames as fire crews try to bring the blaze under control.
Twitter users were quick to comment on the tragedy of the historic building that caught fire.
“The Masonic Temple in Zanesville is on fire right now” someone wrote.
“This building is very important to the arts in my hometown.
“Think of artists whose studios and jobs are on fire.”
The seven-story building is home to a number of local businesses, art studios, professional offices and Masonic organisations.
