Arsenal had hoped the first half-timer would never have sounded – but it did.

And Jurgen Klopp had 15 precious minutes to focus on his team and get back on track.

Liverpool began to press Arsenal to make a mistake.

Diogo Jota scored the opening goal after Thiago penetrated Arsenal’s midfield and defence.

It wasn’t long before Mikel Arteta’s men failed to block the opponent’s pass and a second-half substitute cost them.

The Gunners may have lost, but they are still in control of their own destiny in the race for a top 4 spot.

Arsenal is one point ahead of the nearest rival Manchester United and even has TWO games in hand.
