Married teacher cleared of sex with 15-year-old student

A MARRIED teacher has been cleared of having sex with an obsessed 15-year-old student.

Rebecca Whitehurst, 46, has been accused of sharing explicit text messages, meeting the boy outside of school and engaging in sexual activity with him in the back seat of her Volvo.

But a court overheard the student who sent nude pictures of himself thinking he was in love with Whitehurst.

The boy had mental health issues and is said to have falsified the lyrics while fabricating the allegations in revenge for the teacher’s rejection of his advances.

Whitehurst, from Lymm, Cheshire, was found not guilty to three charges of child sex abuse in Manchester Crown Court yesterday.

She told the court she rejected his advances, but said: “I was embarrassed and ashamed that I mishandled the situation.”
