Marquinhos to Arsenal expected in ‘the coming days’, Gunners reach ‘agreement’ with Hickey, Dybala ‘open’ to transfer

Arsenal receive a transfer hit

Arsenal and Newcastle have suffered setbacks in pursuit of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Everton manager Frank Lampard has now insisted the England international is included in his long-term plans.

In his press conference ahead of the Brentford game, he said: “He’s a fantastic striker, the pedigree of a striker that there aren’t many. I think it was unfortunate for me that I did it.” t had him fit.

“He had small moments but we know that strikers – especially from any position – need streaks, fitness and confidence.

“We were never able to reach Dominic to be fair to him. But yeah he’s a big player, they’re not very common. He’s under contract with us, three years left on his contract and I want to take this club forward and players like Dominic help with that.

“I know he hasn’t played at the moment because he’s getting fit but now he’s fit so hopefully he’ll contribute in the last couple of games and then he’s our player.

“He’s a player who would be wanted by clubs because of his high level of playing.

“There aren’t many strikers out there, they cost a lot of money. I’m not worried about him at all.”
