Although Super has been around since 2020, it was promoted as a “cameo-inspired tool” that would enable video calling between celebrities and their fans.

Meta is asking influencers to try the new version of Super, Business Insider claims, after receiving a slide pack the company used to introduce its platform to developers.

Some influencers were paid $3,000 just to test the app for 30 minutes, according to the outlet.

According to another source who spoke to the outlet, there were also “paid incentives based on live stream performance.”

Some features of Super have stayed the same, like the ability to take selfies with creators, but a lot has changed.

According to the pitch slides, Super will allow creators to monetize their streams like Twitch.

The pitch states viewers can donate to creators and purchase additional content through tiered subscriptions.

Creators are now also allowed to keep all their winnings.

Businesses can enjoy the sponsorship program where they can pay to have their advertising heavily integrated into the creator’s live stream.

Since certain video layouts are already built into the platform, it is easy for a beginner to become a creator.

There are also fun built-in features like trivia and giveaway modules that creators can add to their streams.

So far, no more than 100 developers have used Super, so it’s still in early testing, but developers can sign up and request early access.

This platform is just one of Zuckerberg’s many attempts to dominate the social media sphere.

After founding Facebook and growing it into the $117.9 billion website it is today, Zuckerberg began expanding his platform empire, acquiring Instagram and WhatsApp.

Meta’s new platform copying Twitch is nothing new. Instagram copied Snapchat with Instagram Stories and TikTok with Instagram Reels.

Surprisingly, Super doesn’t integrate with other meta sites.
