At the weekend, a fan asked about Maren’s pets. Write: “How are the puppies?”
The country singer replied, “Got pancake [sic] moving home because he got a little aggressive so June is our girl now.”
Pancake is a bulldog pup the hitmaker introduced to her fans back in 2018, while June is a larger white dog.
Maren faced backlash after announcing her decision to bring Pancake back home, and she addressed it in a tweet that read, “It’s taken many years and many moments to come to this , which did not happen easily. Some larger dogs get softer with age and other smaller dogs get tougher with age.”

She added, “We made the best choice for Hayes.”
Hayes is Maren’s two-year-old son, whom she shares with husband Ryan Hurd.
It’s unclear if anything happened that led Maren to her decision.
The star’s decision was widely criticized, but she also saw plenty of support.
“I know this decision must have been heartbreaking. Dogs are like our bonus kids. You made the right choice mom. For Hayes and for Pancake,” one person wrote.
Someone else chimed in, “I experienced this when my aunt was having a baby and her bulldog was getting aggressive towards the baby.”
A third Twitter user responded: “Aww we almost named our new pup after pancakes. I was wondering how he was doing.”
SET CHALLENGES
Earlier this month, Maren admitted she faced major challenges following the birth of her son Hayes.
The Chasing After You singer spoke to Willie Geist about her battle with postpartum depression during an appearance on Sunday Today.
During the segment, she spoke about giving birth during the Covid-19 pandemic.
She revealed: “I think a lot of identity crises happened there. Not just being a new parent and mom and confronting postpartum depression for the first time and reeling from it.
“Knowing my worth without anyone clapping for me.”
She also revealed how her husband Ryan supported her while she was struggling with postpartum depression during quarantine.
“He kind of just helped me in song form and in pure conversational form to figure out how to get to the light.”
Later in the interview, the Texas native revealed how motherhood has affected her handling of the limelight.
In terms of sharing her opinions and being more open, she said, “I think it’s gotten stronger since I’ve had my son.
“I’m really trying to do something that goes beyond music.”
She added, “And I want people to look around at my shows and be like, ‘OK, this is really loving, safe and comfortable.'”
FIGHT BACK
Despite her struggles, Maren has been loud and proud of her body since having her son, Hayes.
In August, she showed off her bum in a thong and hit back at haters who slammed her for showing too much.
The star shared photos of Rachel Deeb wearing a sexy turquoise outfit.
Her shirt was long-sleeved with feathers at the collar and around the wrists.
The shirt opened in the front with a keyhole in the middle, revealing her stomach.
A photo showed her bare bottom as Maren wore a turquoise thong under the skirt.
While most comments from fans were positive, there was one that ripped up Maren’s looks.
“Really? She had to show her buttocks to do a show there? It makes me lose respect for those singers,” the troll wrote on Instagram.
Maren reposted the comment on her Twitter, blocking the name and captioning the post, “If there’s a Karen, there’s a typo.”
She was referring to the person who said “loose” instead of “lose.”
Fans jumped to her defense, telling her she looked great and shouldn’t listen to the Karen.
