Marcus Rashford equals Wayne Rooney’s Man Utd record after scoring in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Leeds

MARCUS RASHFORD’s goal against Leeds on Wednesday night equaled a record set by Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney.
The England international, 25, headed home brilliantly to put the Red Devils back in the game before Jadon Sancho’s equalizer saved a 2-2 draw for Erik ten Hag’s men.

It brings Rashford’s tally for the season to 20 in all competitions.
But it also means he has now scored in six consecutive Premier League home games.
He is the first Man Utd player to achieve the feat since Rooney did it in April 2012.
And it’s the second Rooney record Rashford has set this season.
Last month he scored at home in all competitions for an eighth consecutive game, surpassing Rooney’s seven-game streak in 2012.
Rashford has 11 in the league so far this season, with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Ivan Toney being the only players to have registered more.
He has also contributed eight assists in all competitions and helped United reach the Carabao Cup final, FA Cup fifth round and Europa League play-off round.
However, Man Utd’s draw with Leeds saw them miss a chance to level on points with second-placed Man City.

And Ten Hag was unhappy with his side’s start to both halves – they conceded a goal in the first three minutes of the first and second halves.
He said: “When you start a derby like us, it’s unacceptable. You have to be ready to fight, and we weren’t ready to fight. It looked like [his players were not ready] but not me.
“We knew that against a team with a good run they will be aggressive, they will try to get into duels and they did that.
“I start my presentation at halftime with, ‘Guys, we’re not ready in the first half, make sure you are this time.’ And then we go out and admit it again.
“I’m disappointed that we lose all the fights in the first minutes of each half.”
United meet Leeds in Sunday’s reverse Premier League game at Elland Road.
