‘Many’ injured in attack while protesting killing of Amir Locke

Multiple people are believed to have been injured in a shooting in Portland, Oregon amid protests over the death of Amir Locke.

The incident is believed to have taken place near Normandale Park in the Hollywood area.

“I spoke to a neighbor who said she heard 9 shots in the direction of Normandale Park,” tweeted FOX12 Oregon’s Connor McCarthy.

According to McCarthy, many people were taken to the hospital.

FOX12 anticipates more information at 10 p.m. local time.

Portland police have posted to their Twitter account that they have responded to a number of shootings over the past few days.

The shooting comes as protests continue across the country over the death of Amir Locke.

Locke was sleeping when he was shot dead by a SWAT team that issued a “no-door” order at a Minneapolis apartment.

The Portland investigation is ongoing.
