MANNY PACQUIAO will appear Thursday night via HOLOGRAM for his charity fight press conference.
For the first time in boxing, the Filipino legend will appear in real time for the media and his YouTube star competitor DK Yoo to hear.
Pacquiao will do so from Seoul, with the press conference taking place nearly 6,000 miles away in Los Angeles.
Speaking of the hologram, Michael Weber, COO of Promoter’s FITE, said, “When you’re presenting a Manny Pacquiao fight, don’t mess around, even if the time and distance don’t add up.
“Our CMO, Kim Hurwitz, suggested this idea and we loved it. We decided it was time to ask Proto for a high-tech solution so Manny could literally be in two places at once.
“The PacMan vs. DK Yoo fight, which will officially be a Triller Fight Club event on FITE, is going to be such an epic match – even his press conference will make history.”
Pacquiao, who won 62 fights, lost eight and drew two, retired in September 2021 after losing to Yordenis Ugas by unanimous decision.
As an eight-time world champion and Hall of Famer, he hung up his gloves.
But he has now decided to get back in the ring for a charity contest with South Korean internet sensation DK Yoo.
The couple met in person at the first official press conference in Seoul a few days ago.

But they won’t be in the same room in Los Angeles as Pacquiao will be hologram beamed in as he continues his tour of South Korea.
And this isn’t the first time the technology has been used in sports.
Lewis Hamilton once starred in a hologram during an advertising campaign in America.
And earlier this year, some England rugby players appeared as holograms to surprise schoolchildren for a virtual PE lesson.
