Manchester City 7-0 Leeds United: Citizens’ players rank as champions in seventh heaven

City of Manchester ripping off Leeds United to shred in a clinical screen to ensure a resounding 7-0 victory in Premier League on Tuesday.

Goals from Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne (2), Riyad Mahrez, John Stones and Nathan Ake helped the Sky Blues crown the second biggest win in history.

Pep Guardiola’s students displayed a terrifying attack intent to which the Peacocks had no answer, crumbling under pressure like a card.

7 – Manchester City’s 7-0 win over Leeds is the second-biggest overall win in the world’s top flight, just behind the 8-0 win over Watford in September 2019. Deadly. #MCILEE

With the win, the Sky Blues are four points away at the top of the table, despite having played more than one game. Note that these are player ratings for City of Manchester:

Ederson – 7/10

He could also have cooked a barbecue in goal, and not worried about making a save. Ederson barely had any trouble during the night.

John Stones – 7/10

Stones played out of position on the night, but that doesn’t appear to be the case, given his form. He also scored Man City’s sixth goal of the night.

Ruben Dias – 7/10

The Portuguese didn’t really have to put his A-game on top, as Leeds United didn’t pose any threat.

Aymeric Laporte – 7/10

He’s more adventurous than Dias, dashes forward with the ball, and makes excellent distribution.

Oleksandr Zinchenko – 7.5 / 10

The Ukrainian was solid in the back, making five recoveries, three clearances and four tackles during the night.

Rodri – 8/10

He was a dominant force in midfield, scoring four key passes as well as an assist for De Bruyne.

Bernardo Silva – 6/10

He missed a babysitter early on. Despite improving afterwards and looking bright, Silva was sacked at half-time.

Riyad Mahrez – 9/10

The Algerians were once again in awe-inspiring form; He was completely clinical with the ball and threatening in his play. Mahrez assisted Grealish before getting on the scoresheet himself in the second half.

It was Mahrez’s 100th Premier League game for Man City. He also scored in his 100th game against Leicester City.

2 – Riyad Mahrez is the first player in Premier League history to score in his 100th appearance for two different teams (Man City & Leicester). Fit. #MCILEE
