Man Utd’s £85.5m signing of Antony IGNORED boss Erik ten Hag’s defensive orders during 6-3 derby against City

ANTONY ignored boss Erik ten Hag’s defensive order to backtrack ahead of Manchester’s 6-3 derby mole on Sunday.
The Manchester United winger has been reunited with Ten Hag, his manager at Ajax, following his £85.5million signing.

Since that move, Ten Hag has reminded Antony of his defensive responsibilities in all United’s training sessions at Carrington.
The message was reinforced to the 22-year-old ahead of the clash with Manchester City at the Etihad.
But Antony apparently forgot those instructions much to the frustration of his manager and right-back Diogo Dalot, who was left without protection.
At one point in the run, Dalot protested with Antony hitting a searing 30-yard drive as he was constantly exposed by Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva down the flank.
Dalot walked a tightrope off the yellow card in the second minute for bringing down Grealish.
Left-back Tyrell Malacia didn’t get much help from Jadon Sancho either.
New-boy Malacia also picked up a first-half booking after a loose pass from Marcus Rashford removed Phil Foden.
United were 4-0 down at the break before losing the game 6-3.

Former Red Devils midfielder Paul Scholes took aim at Antony and Sancho in an Instagram post in which he captioned a picture of David Beckham and Ryan Giggs with the words: “Anyone remember when wingers helped their full-backs?”
They will now try to shake off Sunday’s Europa League hangover with Thursday’s trip to Cyprus against Omonia Nicosia.
