MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly planning to extend Marcus Rashford’s contract by 12 months.
This is plan B for the Red Devils if no longer deal can be agreed with the striker.
The Express reports that Old Trafford bosses see Christmas as a deadline for an extra year’s extension.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season.
Talks have already started to put a long-term deal on paper.
But Erik ten Hag is keen to shift the competition and keep Rashford in any way possible.
The England international is under scrutiny from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG are said to be looking to link Rashford with Kylian Mbappe in a superstar attack.
Initial talks between the player and the capital’s side have reportedly been positive.
This has led to a lengthy deal for the No.10’s forthcoming free agency.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rashford have buried the hatchet for the club’s benefit.
The couple have had a difficult relationship since Ronaldo, who left a bloody mess for Portugal on Saturday, returned to Old Trafford in September 2021.
But despite Ronaldo’s frustration at only starting two games this season, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has emerged as one of Rashford’s biggest cheerleaders.
A Sun source said: “Ronaldo was a bit annoying in the dressing room and some of the players were frustrated that he missed pre-season and was sulking at Carrington.
“But since the transfer window closed his attitude has improved and he’s been very helpful with Marcus.
“He’s been spending time with him, talking about the game and offering his constructive criticism of the positioning on the pitch.
“Marcus was a bit surprised by that because it’s always difficult when you’re playing and a teammate isn’t and you’re both fighting for the same position.
“But the relationship between the two has never been better and Marcus knows there is a lot to learn from him.
“He’s grateful for the advice and for the fact that Ronaldo seems genuine in that he wants Marcus to improve and succeed.”
