MANCHESTER UNITED will look to striker Old Trafford club in the summer in a bid to find a long-term successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Five-time Champions League and Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, 38, left United late last year after his contract was ripped up.

United and Erik ten Hag closed the gap in January with Wout Weghorst on loan.

The Dutchman has played 14 times for the Red Devils and has scored just once.

But he played a role in United’s Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle last month.

Whether his summer loan move from Burnley will become permanent remains to be seen.

But SunSport exclusively revealed Man Utd are planning a summer move for Tottenham and England star Harry Kane.

In fact, United believe they will land 29-year-old Kane this summer – if Tottenham finish outside the top four.

Old Trafford bosses reckon if Spurs miss out on a Champions League spot, they will see their £100million price tag cut.

Another striker target is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

But like Kane, the series goalscorer is likely to cost a fortune, especially as Napoli are certain to win Serie A.

Premier League leaders Arsenal are also said to be leading the race to sign Osimhen.

Both Kane and Osimhen, 24, are two worthy successors to Ronaldo but what are their stats?

Since the 2021-22 season, Kane has played significantly more games in all competitions.

In 86 games against Osimhen’s 58, Kane has scored 47 goals and provided 14 assists.

Osimhen, on the other hand, has 39 goals and five assists.

But the Napoli ace’s goals and assists per 90 are better than Kane’s at .91.

Osimhen’s shot conversion also has an advantage over the England captain.

However, Kane is vastly superior in the playmaking department.

He has created 121 chances on Osimhen’s 46.

And he had more touches in the opponent’s penalty area.

But Ten Hag could be drawn to Osimhen’s youth as the Napoli ace is five years younger than Kane.

And with years of improvement ahead of him, Osimhen’s best is yet to come.
