PORTO midfielder Vitinha is reportedly standing by Manchester United’s interest in an ‘immediate’ Premier League transfer.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2021/22 season, during which he helped his side win the Primeira Liga while also becoming a regular member of the Portugal national team.
Overall, Vitinha played 47 games in all competitions – with four goals and five assists.
It was his first season at Estadio do Dragao after spending the previous season on loan at Wolves where he scored once in 22 games.
However, he failed to persuade the Midlands outfit to convert his temporary stay into a permanent move.
However, it is claimed he is returning to England, with the Red Devils known to have sent scouts to watch him in action in 2022.
According to the Record, Vitinha’s £34million release clause will be activated by a top Premier League side this summer.
And they have only named Erik ten Hag’s United side as the only English side interested in securing his services.
They say the youngster suits Ten Hag’s style of play, with his exit ‘getting closer’.
Portuguese news outlet O Jogo have also stated that his release clause will be fulfilled soon.

They have said his agent Jorge Mendes met with a host of clubs last week – including United and Barcelona.
Alongside United, Leicester have also been credited with an interest in the player in the past.
Meanwhile, Spanish clubs Atletico Madrid, Real Valladolid and Tenerife have kept their eyes on Vitinha.
Belgian champions Club Brugge are keen but unlikely to have the funds and German club Freiburg are also struggling to pay him.
