Man Utd takeover bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now the SECOND RICHEST person in Britain, a staggering net worth has revealed

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE has been named the second richest man in Britain.
The Ineos boss is looking to buy a majority stake in Manchester United, with SunSport announcing last week that it is the preferred bidder.
Ratcliffe, 70, will fend off strong interest from Qatari Sheikh Jassim to buy the club straight from the Glazers.
Sheikh Jassim has upped his offer in a last-ditch effort to stave off Ratcliffe’s offer – although the Brit’s proposal is still said to value United higher.
According to the Sunday Times rich list 2023Ratcliffe’s net worth has increased significantly over the past 12 months.
In their 2022 list he was number 27, but this time he’s in second place after his wealth has risen by a staggering £23.613 billion.
Ratcliffe’s fortune is now reported to be £29.688 billion – just behind that of the Hinduja family.
Robert Watts of Rich List told the PA on Ratcliffe’s rise in the rankings: “This year we have new information on the full extent of Ineos’ gains and it has given us confidence that Ineos is now worth at least £40bn.”
“We also learned more about the personal fortune Jim has amassed over the past 25 years.”
Sheikh Jassim’s latest bid came after Avram Glazer was spotted exiting a hotel owned by the father of the takeover candidate.
