Man Utd stars don’t want Mason Greenwood back this season after charges were dropped

MANCHESTER United stars don’t want Mason Greenwood in the dressing room this season – because they fear it could disrupt their progress.

The 21-year-old forward has been told he will no longer face charges of attempted rape, ABH and coercive and controlling behavior.

United bosses are still investigating his behavior after images and audio of his alleged victim were leaked online.

While this goes on, Greenwood will be suspended on a £100,000-a-week salary and not eligible to train or play.

He last played in January 2022.

A source said: “Players are open to him returning to the team but the trial could be a massive distraction.

“The locker room is the happiest it’s been in ages and nobody wants to rock the boat.”

Greenwood last played for United in January 2022 and has a contract with the club until 2025.

United sponsors have declined to comment on whether they would welcome Greenwood’s sacking.
