Martinez suffered the injury in his side’s 2-2 draw with Sevilla late on Thursday.
The Argentine was carried away by his international teammates Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel in a sporting show.
He then posted a picture of himself in the hospital, smiling and thumbs up.
The former Ajax star wrote: “Everything went really well thank goodness!
“Thank you for all of your messages. Now focus on recovery.”
The injury will rule Martinez out for the remainder of the campaign.
But he is expected to return early next season.
Raphael Varane took a hit against Sevilla but should return in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are the only available experienced centre-backs from boss Erik ten Hag.
After learning his campaign had been cancelled, Martinez wrote on social media: “Not how I imagined a very special season ending but sometimes we face obstacles along the way that we have to overcome, to make us stronger and we learn from them.
“I know I will be back very soon to achieve more. In the meantime, I will continue to support all my teammates to achieve our goals.
“The number of messages and support I have received has been incredible, giving me strength and encouragement at this moment.
“Thank you so much to all of you from the bottom of my heart.”
The World Cup winner played 45 games for the Red Devils in his debut season at Old Trafford.
United are third in the Premier League after winning the Carabao Cup while still battling for the Europa League and FA Cup.

Ten Hag and company travel to Spain later this week for their quarter-final second leg against Sevilla with a 2-2 equaliser.
They meet Brighton in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Sunday.
