Man Utd star Anthony Martial could face World Cup heartbreak as France ‘concerned about striker’s injury record’

ANTHONY MARTIAL could reportedly face heartbreak at the World Cup and miss selection due to his injury record.
The Manchester United striker has struggled with injuries this season which has meant he has only earned a few minutes on the pitch.

And despite his impressive record this season, his ongoing injuries will see him eliminated from the competition for France in the World Cup squad.
According to RMC, Didier Deschamps is expected to snub the 26-year-old in favor of a more permanent striker option.
Martial was substituted again during United’s last game, with Martial assisting Antony’s equalizer against Everton.
However, he was forced out after just 29 minutes and went straight through the tunnel when he was replaced by eventual match-winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ahead of the game at Goodison Park, Martial enjoyed a fruitful performance against Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League, scoring a goal as United came from behind in a 3-2 win.
This contributed to the brace he scored as a substitute in the Manchester derby.
In fact, he has contributed to five goals in just 133 minutes of football this season – a rate of one goal or assist every 26.6 minutes.
If he could stay fit over a period of time and repeat that, he could even eclipse city rivals Manchester City’s talisman.

Erling Haaland’s 15 goals and three assists in the Premier League see him with an insane goal average of 41.9 minutes.
Deschamp will announce his squad for the World Cup in about a month.
The reigning champions are guaranteed to meet Australia, Denmark and Tunisia in the group stage.
And the former Monaco star is hoping to at least make the squad when the tournament in Qatar gets underway in November.
