MANCHESTER UNITED have dispatched scouts to watch Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi – but will have to face the competition if they are to land him.
Other teams across Europe are also interested in the 23-year-old, who has attracted attention with a series of impressive performances in the middle of the park.
Frattesi has been at Sassuolo since 2017 after coming from Roma.
But he was loaned out three times in that time before finally clinching a first-team spot this season.
Gazzetta dello Sport report that Man United have dispatched scouts to monitor the player.
He is known as a consistent, physical player with a strong pace and quick to regain possession.
But United could have a fight if they want to land Frattesi.
Tottenham, Brighton and West Ham are all reportedly interested in taking on the Italian, who has three caps to his tally.
Roma and Inter Milan have also been linked with the young star.
Frattesi has made nine appearances in Serie A this season and has already scored two goals.

Man United scouts appear to be busy pursuing other exciting young talent at the moment.
The club are also believed to be monitoring Benfica defender Antonio Silva.
The 18-year-old was part of the team that struggled against PSG in the Champions League last week and United were able to sign him at a reduced price.
