MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly become involved in the transfer hunt for Brighton’s Ecuador World Cup star Moises Caicedo.
The 21-year-old midfielder has shone on the South Coast since arriving in 2021 and continues to impress for his country at the World Cup.
That has led to a number of clubs starting to put tabs on the former Independiente del Valle ace.
Now United are reportedly preparing a move for him, with Liverpool also eyeing him as an alternative to Jude Bellingham.
Brighton are determined to keep the South American, who is under contract until 2025, for at least one more season.
Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg delivered the fresh update, tweeting: “News #Caicedo: #MUFC planning to join the race! bosses very interested.
“Also on the list of #LFC – alongside Bellingham – and spotted by many other top clubs.
“Teammates say he’s an ‘extraordinary player and character’.
“Brighton hopes he stays beyond 2023.”
Caicedo seems already eyeing a move to one of the big boys as he admitted in September that moving to Chelsea and working with Graham Potter again would be a “dream”.

The Blues were keen on Caicedo even before Potter left Brighton to replace Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge and are reportedly planning a January transfer.
And amidst that speculation, the player admitted: “I think they are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer like this from Chelsea or any other club.
“It would be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and to be successful there.”
