Man Utd news LIVE: traveling squad RETURNED, Fred blast ‘unplanned’, Harry Kane interest, Atletico build

Blog United is on the move
There wasn’t much action in front of Manchester United’s goal this weekend, but it all happened off the pitch this Monday.
The club are said to be moving closer to appointing a new long-term manager with Mauricio Pochettino now said to be the clear favorite.
Erik ten Hag is also under consideration, while former United captain Roy Keane insists Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone has the perfect temperament for the Old Trafford hot seat.
Chief executive officer Richard Arnold has indicated that United want to strike a deal with the new boss as soon as the season ends so they take part in a significant squad overhaul.
Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick is said to be growing increasingly frustrated with Cristiano Ronaldo, but persists with the 37-year-old due to his lack of standout options.
However, when Rangnick moves into his mentoring role in the summer, he will advise United to look for alternatives up front.
Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is under consideration although his club’s €100m valuation will almost certainly cause the Red Devils to look elsewhere.
Transfers that continue this week have led United to link up with the signing of young Southampton right-back Tino Livramento.
