Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has slammed Jadon Sancho and Antony for failing to “kill full-backs” and advised them to emulate Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka.

Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel FIVE: “We don’t seem to have the imagination in these areas.

“We gave it to Nani, Giggsy [Ryan Giggs]to Beck’s [David Beckham] even give it to Antonio Valencia or Cristiano [Ronaldo] if they are wide.

“In a one-on-one situation, either get rid of him with a good ball [Paul] plaice or [Michael] Carrick etc. get them one on one and do your thing.

“Right now we’re getting into those positions and unfortunately our wingers are turning away from that, they’re not killing full-backs, they’re not skinning them.

“The best teams, the winners, get teams one-on-one, they’re waiting for that moment in the game. They might only have two or three moments in a game where they face that full-back one-on-one.

“Saka is doing it as well as anyone in the league. They get the full-back one-on-one and say, ‘Right, I’ll ghost you’. At the moment our outside players are not there, don’t do it”
