Good morning Man Utd fans
Manchester United have been accused by the FA of not having their players under control in Sunday’s goalless draw with Newcastle.
United were found to be in breach of FA Rule E20.1 after Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates protested the decision not to allow the centre-forward to score.
Ronaldo thought he had scored a valid goal after the Magpies appeared to have taken a free-kick deep in their own half.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner and eight of his team-mates then surrounded referee Craig Pawson after ruling out the goal.
The Portuguese skipper was particularly outraged and started yelling and gesturing at the referee, which was penalized with a yellow card.
The Red Devils have until Thursday to respond to the charges and could also appeal that decision.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Elma slammed United boss Erik ten Hag in a brutal Instagram post after her brother was sent off against Newcastle.
She shared a news article that suggested Ronaldo could leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
And Elma posted: “It’s too late.”
Emojis of disgust accompanied her post as she seems to share the same frustration as her siblings.
And United have also been dealt a transfer blow as their target Rafael Leao is set to sign a new contract with AC Milan.
Leao, 23, who is also linked with Chelsea, will be rewarded with a long-term deal, according to Milan director Frederic Massara.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano quoted Massara as tweeting: “We are confident of reaching an agreement with Leao and extending his contract.
“We will try to find a solution to continue with Rafa for a long time.”
Finally, United have some good news regarding the pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace Joao Felix.
Felix, 22, is struggling to start at Atletico and his agent is reportedly looking for a way to move him next year.
United have been linked with the versatile striker in recent seasons.
Romano said on his Here We Go podcast, “The reality is that on the player side – with agent Jorge Mendes – they’re trying to scout the market to come up with some potential solutions for 2023.”
