Liverpool are bottom of the Premier League table… for results achieved in 2023.
And quite unbelievably, it’s the former Nottingham Forest fighters who are leading the way after a stunning turnaround under Steve Cooper.
Liverpool have just one point in four games this year.
Despite the signing of Cody Gakpo, the Reds were unable to come up with a winning formula on the field.
And after the 3-0 hammer against Wolves, Jürgen Klopp’s men have a terrible goal difference of minus eight.
But at the other end of the table, Forest flies high thanks to his brilliant January.
Last year’s playoff winners started the season poorly and were tipped by many for immediate relegation.
However, no team has collected more points in 2023 than Forest, who also have several clean sheets to their credit.
Next up are Brighton and Brentford, who have both picked up an impressive 10 points after flying starts to the new year.
Man Utd and Aston Villa have also matched that strong record, albeit by an extra game.
Man City and Spurs are then close, just a point behind.
But Tottenham’s nine total seem less impressive considering they have played six times since the start of the year – the combined most of any side.
Interestingly, leaders Arsenal are next with just seven points, having lost points to Newcastle and Everton.
