The pre-releases need to be corrected, says Tebas
LaLiga’s Tebas said an “in-depth study” of Prem finances showed “what happened there needs to be rectified”.
He added: “The market in England is severely inflated and is becoming an unsustainable business.
“We have to decide if we want sustainable European football.
“This summer the Premier League had net spending of £1.07 billion. In Spain it was £43m, with Germany a surplus of £43m.
“La Liga and Bundesliga have sales of £3.5bn, Premier League £6.4bn – so are these spending figures logical?
“Something doesn’t make sense there, so what happens? Many checkbooks have come out at City and other clubs.
“You see, in the last five years, including the pandemic, La Liga clubs have lost £192m but Premier League clubs have lost £1.13bn.
“It’s just not a sustainable model. And it’s not the model that Uefa will allow in the future.”
