Erik ten Hag hailed Wout Weghorst for breaking his Manchester United duck – with the second killer goal that broke Nottingham Forest’s hearts, GRAEME BRYCE writes.

And claimed the Burnley striker would only get better and better, now he’s off the mark as a United shooter.

“For strikers, the first goal is always important,” said Ten Hag.

“I think Wout did a great job against Crystal Palace and Arsenal with his pressing that delivers a target with his movement.

“Bruno’s goal against Crystal Palace, he was in it because he makes the right movement towards the front post.

“Rashford’s goal against Arsenal, he was part of it because he created the space for Rashford by pulling the middle half away.

“But strikers are there to score goals and if they don’t score goals they’re not happy.

“So it’s important for him and for his confidence that he scored that goal tonight.”
