Man Utd LIVE news: Roy Keane says he would have gone HIDING, player ROW on pitch in Liverpool defeat – latest

You don’t smile with children…

Gary Neville accused Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness of “rejoicing like little kids” after their old club Liverpool’s 7-0 win over Manchester United.

Cody Gakpo opened the floodgates with his opening goal in the 43rd minute as Nev’s former team collapsed.

But Old Trafford legend Neville disagreed with Souness and Carragher on whether it was mainly due to Liverpool’s brilliance or United’s ineptitude.

Souness initially referred to his pre-game prediction that Liverpool would win comfortably. He then added: “Gary said off-air that you thought Liverpool played poorly today.”

Neville replied: “I didn’t say that. I said that I thought Manchester United were the better team in the first half. I think the second half was about Manchester United’s surrender.”

Souness responded with: “So that had nothing to do with Liverpool playing well?”

Before qualifying his view, Neville added: “I don’t think when Jurgen Klopp analyzes this game tomorrow – the momentum he’s going to get from it – but I don’t think he’s going to think ‘we’re back’. I don’t think he’s going to fall into that trap. You won’t get carried away with it at all.”

As Souness tried to come back in, an excited Neville said, “Look at her.

To which Souness replied: “You can’t come out with a stupid remark like ‘Liverpool didn’t play well today’.”
