If the Eagles are not beaten, United could slip to seventh place and the Uefa Conference League.

United need to get the three points in South London or hope West Ham don’t beat Brighton at the Amex Stadium to secure a Europa League spot.

And United could decide to give their youngsters a chance, with Charlie Savage, Shola Shoretire and Alvaro Fernandez all named in their squad.

The trio were snapped before heading to the capital where they will try to impress new coach Erik ten Hag should they be given playing time.

Savage – son of former Leicester ace Robbie – has not been included in a Premier League matchday squad this season.

The midfielder made his first team debut for the club in December in the Champions League against Swiss club Young Boys, leaving his father on the verge of tears.

Forward Shoretire played in the top flight twice last season but, like Savage, was not included in a squad before the trip to Palace.
