Man Utd in another major blow with Casemiro in deep doubt for this week’s Europa League clash with Real Betis

CASEMIRO is a doubt for Thursday’s Europa League clash between Manchester United and Real Betis.

The Brazilian has been a steady player for the Red Devils since his £70million move from Real Madrid in the summer.

But even he was powerless to prevent United’s 7-0 loss at Liverpool on Sunday.

According to ESPN, Casemiro picked up an injury against the Reds.

He came on in the 77th minute and was replaced by Marcel Sabitzer.

Casemiro is examined by medical staff ahead of the Europa League round of 16 first leg against Betis at Old Trafford.

He has played in all eight Red Devils Europa League games so far this season.

The veteran star played a huge part in his side’s thrilling 4-3 aggregate win over Barcelona.

But he can join midfielders Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek on the treatment table.

Fred has largely deputized for Eriksen since the Dane’s injury.

Should Casemiro be absent, Fred could be joined in the middle by either Scott McTominay or Sabitzer, who joined in January.

Casemiro has made 35 appearances for United so far, scoring five goals and providing five assists. He also helped them win the Carabao Cup, their first trophy in almost six years.

Further up the field, Anthony Martial remains absent through injury.
