WAYNE ROONEY was back in Cheshire to see his wife and children after the MLS season ended unsuccessfully for his DC United team.
The Manchester United legend returned to the UK to be with Coleen and his children Kai, Klay, Cass and Kit, who are based in England while he resides in the United States.
Rooney, 36, was pictured in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, on Friday afternoon.
He wore a tracksuit, a down jacket, sneakers and a hat for the walk.
The former England international took charge of the Washington-based side mid-season in July but failed to turn the tide of the club.
DC United finished bottom in the Eastern Conference and missed out on a playoff spot by 21 points.
They also scored the fewest goals and conceded the most in the league.
The former England star has managed 14 games in MLS, winning two and losing nine.
But with the season now over, Rooney is back home and ready to take on dad duties like being the family’s “taxi driver”.
He told The Telegraph: “The kids are off school so I’ll be back to being a taxi driver for a couple of weeks and then try to get some time off on holiday for half the semester.”

But his mind is always on football as he tries to rebuild DC United over the winter break.
He said: “The mentality and character of the club needs to be improved.
“It’s a big off-season for us. If we’re going to compete, if we’re going to be successful, there have to be big changes, and some of them.
“It’s my job to push the owners. If we want to be successful, if we want to develop as a team and as a club, we need to make sure we’re making the right decisions this off-season.”
“It’s going to be a lot of work, but it takes it.”
Rooney is back home but in a different house after he and Coleen sold their mansion called Wayne’s World for £3.7million.
