Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea was glitched by Spain against Albania and Iceland because he ‘didn’t fit the style of play’

DAVID DE GEA appears to have been left out of Spain’s newest squad because he doesn’t fit his country’s style of play.
His country will play friendlies against Albania and Iceland later this month.

And although De Gea has been Man Utd’s standout this season, he has been left out of Luis Enrique’s 23-man squad.
Spain’s Euro 2020 Player of the Year, Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon, and Premier League duo Robert Sanchez and David Raya have all been called up.
Goalkeeper Raya, who has never represented Spain at any level, was rewarded with keeping five clean sheets in 15 games in his first Premier League season with Brentford.
And it seems his passing ability has landed him more on the list than De Gea.

Enrique, explaining Raya’s call, said: “It’s part of the monitoring we do with the goalkeepers.
“He is a player who is doing very well.”
“I really wanted to see it in the context of the selection. He has the necessary profile to play with us”.
De Gea has made 45 appearances for his country, with his debut against El Salvador in 2014.
But his last appearance came late last year in a 0-1 Nations League loss to Ukraine.
De Gea not being called up to the national team could be a blessing for both the player and Man Utd.
The team was given some time off before the international break after they disappointedly left the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.
And with United with nothing left to play but a place in the top four, having their players refreshed and available for the rest of the season could give them an edge over their rivals.
