And de Gea later released a clip of ex-United boss Mourinho saying: ‘When I speak I’m in big trouble, big trouble. And I don’t want to get into big trouble.”
The Spanish stopper didn’t explain his significance – but many fans believed it was a reference to Casemiro’s decision being made at VAR.
The in-form Brazilian picked up his first straight red card when he grabbed Hughes by the neck.
Ref Andre Marriner watched replays before giving his verdict.
And when De Gea posted his enigmatic message, fans rushed in and urged him to explain his thoughts.
One wrote: “Speak!!!! It was a wrong call. We must appeal against this!! They’re after our case.”
Another said: “C’mon David speak your mind!” and a third wrote: “Let ’em hear it Dave”.
Bruno Fernandes’ penalty and Marcus Rashford’s brilliant team goal had rightly given United victory.

But they creaked after Casemiro was sacked.
Jeff Schlupp answered for Palace, narrowly leaving the Red Devils behind to finish third with the win.
Some United fans believe Casemiro’s suspension could actually help – as it will keep him fresh for potentially bigger games.

And this supporter agreed: “We should both win without him then he’ll be rested for the Barca/Carabao (Cup) final.”
