Man Utd fans furious over ‘disrespectful’ price tag for Fred as Premier League rivals ‘keen on transfer’

MANCHESTER UNITED fans are furious over the alleged price the club set for Fred.

The Brazilian is being linked with a departure from Old Trafford this summer and a move to Fulham.

The midfielder made 57 appearances for the Red Devils last season, helping them win a Carabao Cup trophy and a place in the Champions League.

However, he was spotted chatting with coach Marco Silva after the season-ending win against the London side.

And supporters were furious at the apparent price.

The Brazilian’s contract at Man United has one year left to run and this could be one of the last chances for the club to benefit from him.

According to the Telegraph, Fulham are willing to pay for him but not at the asking price of £20m, which is £32m less than the price the club paid for him in 2018.

However, Man United fans cannot believe the price that has been set for the 30-year-old.

One angry fan tweeted: “£20m?! And they won’t pay for it?! Ah?! I’m delighted that Fred is leaving but I thought he would go for the bare minimum of £30m.”

A second commented: “50m or nothing.”

A third wrote: “This rating seems disrespectful to a player like Fred, he is a current Brazil international and actually a decent player if applied correctly.”

“United is the worst at sales. Regardless of whether he’s in the last year of his contract, it should be at least 35 million.”

A fourth joked: “Would they sell Palinha for 20million?? Come on!”

A fifth said: “Fred is a Brazil international why are we having a hard time getting 20m for him?? lol.”

While a sixth added: “£20m is a bargain huh?”

Although Fred may not be one of the stars at Manchester United, he has played a huge role this season.

He played 2,275 minutes in all competitions, the 13th minute in the United squad.

He played his final minutes in the FA Cup final defeat by Manchester City.

After the game, Fred admitted he wasn’t sure about his future yet but was happy at the club.

He said: “I still don’t know, I have to talk to my family, my contract here has one year left.”

“Now are holidays and a good opportunity to rest. I will speak to my staff and the club and see how everyone decides.”

“I need to talk to them [Erik] Ten Hag is also the manager and the conversation needs to involve everyone.

“We’ll have to see how next season goes. I want to be important, I want to help the team, so we’ll see.”

“But I was and still am very happy at Manchester United.”
