MANCHESTER UNITED youngster Brandon Williams has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he named the best team-mate he has played with.
Williams, 22, joined United’s academy in 2008 and rose through the ranks to make his first-team debut eleven years later.
During his time with the Red Devils he has played alongside some of the world’s top talent including Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
But when asked about the best player he’s ever played with, the former Norwich loanee admitted it was in fact Juan Mata.
Speaking to GOAL, Williams said: “I would probably say Juan Mata because he’s a magician on the ball.
“He takes control of the games the way he plays.
“He’s also a good guy off the pitch – he talks to us and helps us.”
Mata joined United in 2014 for a fee of £37million and subsequently spent eight years at Old Trafford.
During that time he scored 51 goals and provided 47 assists in 285 games.
However, he fell out of favor last season and was sacked when his contract expired in June.
He has since signed for Turkish giants Galatasaray on a free transfer.
Mata was announced earlier this week as one of the club’s five new signings alongside PSG striker Mauro Icardi, who has been on a season-long loan.
