Man Utd ‘considering transfer for Real Madrid star Casemiro to fix midfield woes as club bosses fly to Spain’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly considering a move for midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid in a bid to remedy midfield problems.

The Red Devils have been stalking Frenkie de Jong all summer hoping to tempt the Dutchman into a reunion with Erik ten Hag.

However, it seems that rivals Chelsea have overtaken them in the race for the Barcelona midfielder.

And according to Marca, United could now turn to Real Casemiro to solve their midfield problems.

Current duo Scott McTominay and Fred have been heavily criticized for not being played by United stars of the past.

The 30-year-old Brazilian has helped Real Madrid win FIVE Champions Leagues and three LaLiga titles.

And Real would most like to keep Casemiro, who has a special relationship with boss Carlo Ancelotti.

No formal offer has been made for the player but some Man Utd directors are in Madrid.

Should Real approve a sale, Ancelotti can still count on Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Younger stars Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga have also proved reliable, especially last season.

Real also signed Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, the Frenchman seen as a long-term replacement for Casemiro.
