Man Utd and West Ham suffer more midfield transfer woes as Ibrahim snubs Sangare to sign new PSV deal

Midfield target Ibrahim Sangare of WEST HAM has extended his contract at PSV Eindhoven until 2027.

The Hammers turned their attention to the 24-year-old Ivorian midfielder after missing out on Lille’s Amadou Onana, who will join Everton for £33m.

Still, Sangare has decided to remain in the Netherlands for the foreseeable future, despite previously admitting his dream was to one day play in the Premier League.

Manchester United, Leicester and Newcastle also watched West Ham’s goal.

United need reinforcements in the middle of the park after losing Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

The Red Devils have made Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong their top transfer target but a potential move has stalled.

Leicester, on the other hand, face the prospect of losing star midfielders Youri Tielemans or James Maddison before transfer deadline day.

But Sangare said after signing his new contract: “I felt at home from day one, the way I’m received and the way people treat me makes me very happy.

“I want to be champions with PSV and reach the UEFA Champions League.”

After four impressive years in France, Sangare joined PSV from Toulouse in 2020.

The defensive midfielder shone with four goals and four assists in 48 appearances in all competitions last season.

The 24-year-old has recorded five goals and six assists in 89 games for PSV.
