Man ‘threatens to stab passengers and crew on plane’ before flight diverts and officers find ‘scary weapon’

A PERSON on a plane flying from Cincinnati to Tampa reportedly threatened to stab passengers and crew Friday night.

The plane bound for Florida was diverted to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after the incident, Atlanta News First reports.

An Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport official said the incident happened at 9:09 a.m.

After the plane landed in Atlanta, police officers arrested the person.

The person in question was also found with a “box cutter,” Atlanta News First learned.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
