Man falls to his death in New York after falling 45ft from an elevated catwalk

A MAN has died after falling 45 feet from a pedestrian bridge at Empire State Plaza in New York City.

The man’s body was found near the Madison Avenue entrance to the plaza around 11:51 a.m. Sunday.

The victim is a resident of Albany, New York, but his identity has not yet been released.

The Empire State Plaza is a Complex of several state government buildings in downtown.

The elevated walkway from which the man fell is about 45 feet high and is inside the complex, according to WNYT.

The man was found after rescue workers received reports of an unresponsive man at the square.

He died as a result of the fall, state police said.

The investigation into his fall and death is ongoing.

Police said there was no reason to believe the public was in any danger.

The Albany State Police Department did not immediately respond to The US Sun’s request for comment.
