The win moved City to second in the table, a point behind Arsenal and continued Haaland’s incredible start in life at Man City.

Here are the records he broke today:

Three hat tricks in a row

He set a new Premier League milestone when he became the first player to score three hat-tricks in three consecutive home games.

Haaland’s run began against Crystal Palace when he dragged his team down from 1-2 to win 4-2 when he struck three times in 20 minutes to seal the win.

This was followed by his perfect hat-trick (right foot, left foot and header goals) as City beat Nottingham Forest 6-0.

Then his reckless display against Man Utd put his name in the history books.

Top scorer in Europe

The final heights of the Tormaschine brought his record to 14 in the Prem.

This makes him this season’s top scorer in Europe’s top 5 leagues, and he’s ahead by a wide margin.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is his closest challenger with nine goals and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe with eight.

It feels like the Premier League golden boot is certainly his way, with Tottenham’s Harry Kane the closest to catching it on seven.

Direct Goal Contributions

Haaland’s record afternoon didn’t stop there – he was involved in five of City’s six goals and twice assisted Foden.

In doing so, the 22-year-old broke the record for most goals scored in a Manchester derby.

Remarkable statistics

Haaland also became the first Man City player to score a hat-trick against his local rival since 1970 when Francis Lee scored three times at Old Trafford.

Kelechi Iheanacho is the youngest player for Man City to score against Man Utd aged just 19. Haaland is now the second youngest.

He narrowly overtakes Foden, who is two months older than the striker.

It was a bad day for Cristiano Ronaldo as he sat on the bench throughout the game and looked angry.

And now it means Haaland has scored as many Premier League hat-tricks as the Portuguese legend despite making only eight appearances in England.
